About the Winery:
Pierre Ponnelle is one of the great figures of Burgundy in the 19th century. Born in 1847 near Arnay-le-Duc, he spent the first moments of his youth in Beaune and later did his studies in Germanyand the Scandinavian countries. Pierre Ponnelle, however, was above all passionate about oenology. It was upon his return to Beaune in 1875, that Pierre Ponnelle founded his house as wine merchant-maturer. Pierre Ponnelle is considered a pioneer in oenology and a great entrepreneur for his great contributions to the development of Burgundy wines. He was constantly searching for a way to showcase and bring out the finesse and elegance of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of Burgundy
